Review: Did you ever play Plants vs. Zombies and think you could do a better job if you were the plant firing at them yourself? Well. now you get the chance because ZR: Zombie Riot is in the same graphical style. Working with the Oculus Touch controllers, you are given various guns, from small arms to assault rifles and unlimited ammo. The idea is simple, survive the continuous waves of zombies by shooting them (headshots are best).
While this might be a fairly easy game the different zombies you get, the fast, bigger waves of them and having to look after various things like bowls of fruit all add up to make the game slightly more challenging. But not much more. Then once you are done with the story mode (and it won’t take long) you can then have a go at endless zombies mode. While there aren’t any multiplayer options, you could always do a score challenge in endless mode and pass it between friends.
ZR: Zombie Riot is indeed a riot, but one that is far too easy to justify the price. Looking past the lack of value for money this is loads of fun and it will indeed kill a few hours. For those of us who are not good with a gun and aim badly, this is perfect, giving you unlimited ammo and all sorts of powerups in the story mode of the game. Then there is the endless mode as well. Sadly the lack of a multiplayer mode might put off a lot of people, but if you are looking to kill a few hours and don’t like your zombies too scary, give this a go!
