XTAL 8K Review
This professional virtual reality headset (hence the price) works with the Lighthouse tracking boxes you get with the HTC vive or you can buy them separately on Steam, but you do need them in order to get the full 6 DOF tracking. Featuring two 4K high-density LCD displays smashing out 7680 x 2160 (3840 x 2160 per eye) this is a beast of a headset and even has Custom-built optic lenses to give you a super clear image. While the 180°field of view might make you want it, this is not really for home use at all and the software can be quite temperamental with Steam VR apps and games.
Is The XTAL 8K Worth Buying?
This is not a headset for the average user at all, nor is it a good option for anyone really mostly due to the huge weight and uncomfortable head strap. However, I am sure there will be some business use for it, but it is not a headset the average VR gamer should buy, but maybe a business running pilot training or other training that needs a high-quality clear VR system.
