Review: I have been dreaming for years of what a virtual reality football (Soccer if you are American) game might look like and here we are. But Worldy Cup VR isn’t just a football game. it features crazy (Simple Soccer) style of graphics, super-fast gameplay and even has powerups and natural disasters to contend with all while trying to score a goal. This is a football game of the likes you have never experienced before. With up to 4 players in tournament mode and up to a massive 6 players on VS mode, this is a basic-looking football game that is best played with friends. While it can often feel and look like chaos, I soon found myself getting used to the controls and really getting into the game.
You can play in a variety of ways, choose the graphical style from realistic to retro and even play on the moon, Mars of during a meteorite storm which is one of the best ways. While the menu systems could do with some work, this game has it where it counts, in the gameplay. It’s fast, fun and you can play in so many ways, you won’t be getting bored of it any time soon.
This is no FIFA in VR, but it is a fun football game that is at it’s best when played with friends. What I loved most was the speed of play and the simplicity of the controls. Normal football games theses days need a degree to play them properly, so it’s a relief to have one that remembers what it is like to have fun playing a football game. Some people might like something a lot more serious, but not me.
