Description: Whirligig is a VR media player for the playback and viewing of video files and images. It supports a wide range of projection types, render paths and has many other features to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
I found it best to use the touch controllers. While there isn’t much in the way of a tutorial I did get to know my way around the app in the end and definitely appreciated the Touch Controller interface. You can change pretty much everything you want from most viewing options, to scenery options. But it is the playback options that really impress. You name it, this app can play it back like it. From a 180° curved screen to a large screen TV in a house, it should cover pretty much everyone’s playing preferences.
Whirligig Media Player is a Jack of all trades and for those of us who have media in several different formats (especially all the types of “VR camera media) this is just about the only app that will do the job all in one place. But sadly being all things to all media has also made this app unassessably complicated. It took me more than a while to get used to it and even longer to get the setup how I wanted them.
But the good news is the developer seems to be listening and is constantly making changes based on we users feedback. If you like playing media in several different formats, this is the app for you. Best of all it comes at a great price.
