VR News: VR technology isn’t all about games and training, some psychologist are starting to see the benefit as well. Studies made at the School of Psychology, Liverpool, UK have proved users of VR could have their personality profiled in a virtual world meaning it could one day be used to spot certain mental health conditions and thus also used to treat them. But it is not all good news as this also proves that Facebook could do the same thing. My Thoughts: I get the privacy issue here, but most of us using VR get that it is early days for this technology and its practical uses and ability to record our date is part of the technologies learning curve. Could Facebook be using VR data to profile your personality? I am sure they are, but that could also be a good thing as it will make sure the content suggested to us is more tailored to the things we enjoy. I suppose it is all a matter of perspective, but I for one can’t see a bad thing here, but maybe I am too trusting in big tech companies using my data ethically, but I’m just not a “big Brother” subscriber.
