Review: Let’s get this out of the way first. I have never been sailing, I have never been on a sailing boat and besides, I can’t even swim! But even I managed to have fun playing VR Regatta for several hours on end. While the graphics in this game are good, the real star of the show is the gameplay. Even if you don’t know anything about sailing this game does its best to try and get you into it and I have to say when you get into a close finishing race it can be VERY exciting indeed. While VR Regatta never claims to be a true simulator, I feel it is more than close enough to keep most professional sailers more than happy.
Sadly unless you hit the multiplayer side of things (that is still surprisingly active) you won’t justify the £23.79 price tag. But if you got this in a sale for half-price or less you will play it enough to get your money’s worth without the need to go into the multiplayer mode. As I said at the start of this I am no sailing expert, but I think this just might be the best VR sailing game money can buy.
