VR News: Thanks to the Belgian company ‘SedaKit’ 60,000+ patients have used VR for digital therapy, or as they call it “Therapeutic Sedation”. Using simple VR devices like the Gear VR they are helping to relax the patients pre-surgery and lower their anxiety levels. The other good news is that this company has done so well it has received a €10 million Series A investment! My Thoughts: While this is not the first time we have seen VR used this way it is good to see a company be not only successful at it, but also using it in the vast numbers for better research and results. While I can’t see VR technology being used as digital sedation in hospitals all over the world, I could see it being prescribed for use at home, especially by people with low chronic pains. Either way, it is interesting and I thought I would share this with everyone.
