Review: Anyone who has downloaded a VR music video will tell you how amazing music and VR together are. Audio Visualizer gives to 6 “visualizers” to play with while you listen to a pre-set choice of music. You can choose between: Impressive Sphere, Tune Circle, Radio City, Beat Detection, Rainbow and Sidescroller. The idea is you sit back, listen to the music and enjoy the visuals of the music played out in front of you (it only really appears in front, not all around you).
Using the Oculus Remote you can easily navigate between the “visualizers” but you need to use the keyboard to swap between the songs. Once you have selected the choice you want there is no interaction needed, just enjoy the sights and sounds.
Audio Visualizer is one of those apps that could be great one day, I truly believe that. But that day is not at the moment. With no way to play your own music and no way to swap between music while in the same “visualisation” (in VR anyway) this is one app that doesn’t really live up to what I want it to. Just a few small updates and this could be a much better app. But whether or not they will come only the developer knows.
