Description: Visitations is a collection of vignettes designed to relax, entrance, and enhance the viewer’s state of mind. It makes use of techniques such as binaural beats, subtle strobing, form constants, and includes a body scan meditation, a dream induction, and a soundtrack developed by a healer with experience leading traditionally inspired ceremonies. The experiences in Visitations allow users to turn inwards and explore their own stories and mental states. The spaces are open vessels waiting to be filled by the conscious intentions of the users. Ancient shamans intuitively understood the power of the mind, and that their performances would conjure the body’s innate ability to heal. Modern medicine accomplishes a similar effect with lab coats and pills. Visitations employs technology to similar ends.
Review: At its core ‘Visitations Issue One: Foundation’ is a simple to use relaxation app. Using gaze-based navigation you can simply lay down on the door our you bed and drift out into the world scenery or a never-ending kaleidoscope effect. It looks good, is relaxing to use and…free. So, now you are wondering why it seems to cost £7.19. that price if for “Visitations Issue One: Foundation” which if you ask me is pointless buying, especially when you need the original ‘Visitations’ (which is free) anyway. You can just use the free app here and get most of what you need, there is no need to pay anything here. Sure, it gives you slightly more content and a nod towards the developers hard work, but that is all. Get the free one, enjoy it, but don’t pay unless you really want to show your appreciation of it.
