Valve Index Review
While there are cheaper ways to buy the Valve Index (especially if you have a Vive before it) I am reviewing this from a POV of a first-time buyer. To be fair this is not an easy headset to set up. You have to set up all your lighthouse stations and then set up the headset. But once you are over that hurdle you are in for a treat. The Fast Switching Type Displays make everything buttery smooth and the 130° FOV is eye-opening. While I did notice a small annoying clicking in the controllers I loved the feel of them and to be honest I wished I could use them on a cheaper headset.
Is The Valve Index Worth Buying?
No matter how much I personally love the Valve Index putting it up against the Oculus Quest really shows you how that high price simply isn’t worth it. Sure, it’s a great headset and dare I say it’s one of the best VR headsets money can buy, but will be out of the range of most people and it’s not like it offers a whole lot over the Quest. If you plan to have a large room set up for VR this is the system to go for, but for most of us, the price is simply too much.
