First Impressions: Getting it out of the box for the first time I thought I was looking at a luxury version of the Samsung Gear VR! But working with it a little more I soon discovered that this is not a Gear VR clone, but a mobile VR headset with what seems to be a TouchPad on the side of it. While it is a little heavy I have to admit to being pretty impressed with it overall. It looks good, seems sturdy enough and is also well made.

Features Review: I feel it’s best to start with the TouchPad on the side of the headset. Sadly it only currently works with apps that are located within the QR code located inside of the headset. We have seen this sort of thing before and once again it is all but pointless. The good news is the volume up and down buttons do work if you connect the headset up to the phone via a USB connector cable (included in the headset) and the “back” button only seems to be able to pause music and media and can’t be used as a screen touch button. The rest of the adjustments like IPD and focus are there, but very little else sadly.

Review: I have to ask what designers of these headsets are on half the time. This could easily be one of the greatest headsets we have ever seen and yet it keeps falling over itself to the finish line. The touchpad could easily be made a simple Bluetooth connected controller that ALL PHONES can work with It could easily have built-in earphones and even the button on top could be a screen touch button. But yet…none of it is. Yet again we are looking at an overpriced headset that should only be received as a gift by someone who doesn’t know what they are doing. Put simply there is almost no excuse I can think of to go out and buy this headset, but with some basic changes, it could be.
