Review: Toy Clash is a tabletop strategy game that looks like a playset laid out on the table for you to play with and let me tell you in VR it looks pretty awesome indeed and incredibly immersive. There is a whole virtual room all around you, but the table is all you will be looking at from start to finish. Not only are the graphics pretty good but the character animation is also very well done with each character looking very individual and enjoyable to watch. There are several styles of levels to play in, each one is done in a ‘pop-up-book’ style. But it’s the upgrades and multi-strategy gameplay that really makes this game shine. You don’t just have to worry about defending your tank, your side of the book, but also the energy being made and the energy you are spending on getting more defending (or attacking characters). Virtual reality and tabletop strategy games are the perfect marriage and this game showcases that perfectly. While some will argue that it isn’t worth the asking price I think it is, but only just.
