Our Thoughts: It was supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter in the progress of virtual reality, in terms of its technology as well as its distribution. The Tier 1 (Totally Immersive Exploration Realm) HMD was packed with features requested by users, and for the first time, a virtual reality accessory that was being distributed through a network of qualified developers. But it doesn’t matter who makes it, or who distributes it if it’s overpriced and under-teched.
It was the first (and only) headset to feature VRon (Virtual Reality Optical Non-Distorting) System because it was one of the very first optical systems designed solely for VR applications. Before this headset, all other HMD’s tried to be all things to everyone. It certainly looked the part. It was aesthetically pleasing with a high glass futuristic finish. It’s just a shame the stats were not as futuristic as the paint job.
