Description: The Gleam: VR Escape the Room is a short room-scale experience designed to provide an immersive, claustrophobic, obstacle course full of puzzles and codes that you must solve in order to escape. Full room-scale based on minimum room-scale requirements. No teleporting or artificial locomotion. Horror ambience provides a constant lingering fear that you aren’t alone in the “gleam”. Creative obstacles have you crawling through vents as you search high and low for items that’ll help you solve puzzles.
Review: While I am not the best at escape room puzzle games I still enjoy playing them. The good news with The Gleam: VR Escape the Room is how easy it is. If I can finish this game, then just about anyone can. But that is also its biggest problem. With just over 10 mins playtime that £2.79 price tag is suddenly too high and even for a single quid ($1) I would struggle to suggest this game has value for money. It looks OK I suppose and there are some slightly clever elements, but that is about it. This is one escape room puzzle best left in the dark, much like the gameplay style itself.
