Inside a futuristic war room, a 3D hologram shows two armies on the verge of battle. You are the tactical mastermind who must command your troops to victory. Build swarms of gunships, tanks, bombers, and other units, and use your hi-tech view of the battlefield to strategically outmanoeuvre the enemy! Tactera features 12 tactically unique unit types, as well as a procedural Campaign, customizable Skirmish missions, and head-to-head multiplayer modes.
Review: Tactera is a VR Real—Time Strategy game set on a virtual holographic tabletop. Set in a futuristic command centre, a holographic display allows you to see beyond the fog of war. Build swarms of gunships, tanks, bombers, and other units and use your hi-tech view of the battlefield to strategically outmanoeuvre the enemy! It is your classic strategy game and while it is lacking any multiplayer mode the AI will keep you amused for some time.
Set to a wireframe sort of graphical style you might not think this game is immersive, but it really can be once you get deep into a battle as the sci-fi environment in which you play is nice and dark leading to the lighter table capturing all your attention. While not worth the current £11.39 asking price I would give this a go for a few quid as strategy games in VR are always a treat no matter how basic they look.
