Description: Sublevel Zero Redux is a roguelite six-degree-of-freedom shooter set in a universe where reality is falling apart. With your gunship, fight in zero-g through a vast, procedurally-generated underground facility to recover the technology you need to escape the many dangers hidden around every corner. Featuring a brand new expansion that adds hours of new content, the action is more intense than ever.
You progress through randomly generated levels, fighting enemies and collecting loot along the way, with the goal of destroying the core at the end of each level to collect a piece of a special engine you need for your ship. Unlike Descent though you don’t have to escape the level after destroying the core, you just have to destroy it. While this is a control friendly game, it is best played with a keyboard and mouse for faster gameplay and better reaction times.
This is not a game for VR beginners that is for sure, the much talked about ‘six-degree-of-freedom’ will make even the hardened VR enthusiast feel very ill indeed, but if you can handle games like Eve: Valkyrie you should be fine here as well. The lack of a multiplayer mode will be missed by a lot of people and the retro-themed graphics might put some others off. But if you are VR hardened this game will offer some amazing fun and at times you get a real sense of danger, never really knowing where an enemy might be coming from. Well worth a download for those who can handle it.
