Description: This demo contains the hazard and risk training environment from the Stonebridge Virtual College application. Start by exploring the Tabletop Island to collect your first star and open up the hazard and risk training room. Built to compliment our teaching assistant distance learning courses, this demo tasks the user with identifying hazards which are commonly found in the classroom.
You start off with a rather cool looking table top model that is pretty impressive. From here you select the rooms you want to play if you have enough stars to unlock them. Once an area is selected you will be tasked with spotting all the potential hazards all around you. From trips hazards to fire hazards each time it is random and only have a set amount of time to find them all. This is a lot more challenging than you might think because some of the hazards are not as obvious to the untrained eye.
Once again VR’s potential as a learning tool is showcased. Sure it isn’t the best looking app or the most interesting, but it does shine a different shade of light on VR in the form of a safety training tool. While I personally didn’t learn much from this app I can see it being a valuable tool for someone in the classroom environment. Proof indeed that VR is about so much more than games. I also have to give credit to this being a free app and being filled with more content than you might think and you’ll have more fun than you might imagine. The tabletop model is worth seeing on its own!
