Description: After “accidentally” jumping your spaceship through a wormhole, you’ve crash landed onto this forsaken desert planet a billion kilometers from home. The only thing between you and the horizon is the seemingly endless dunes of sand, save for one strange, huge building. Inside, it appears to be an interstellar Casino where everyone plays air hockey for a living.
Review: Ever wanted to visit the Mos Eisley Cantina bar in the StarWars universe? If you have this game is pretty much a blatant knockoff of it (even down to the music). The story goes that your shuttle has crash landed outside and you need a new one. But due to you having no money you will have to earn and gamble for it. This is done by performing a few tasks and playing lots and lots is Shufflepuck which seems to be an alien version of Air Hockey with special power moves. For those who remember it, this is in fact, an updated version of Shufflepuck Cafe on the NES, but most people would have never heard of that.
The aim of the game is just the same as air hockey. Get the puck into the opponent’s goal more times than it goes into your own. With various things to see and characters to unlock there is a fair amount of gameplay hours to be had here.
Sadly it does get boring rather quickly and there really isn’t much to do other than play Shufflepuck over and over again. If you love playing Air Hockey in the arcade you will love this! But just imagine for a moment being locked in an arcade for the night and the only machine that worked was that one, how quickly would you get bored and start trying to get out? By answering that questions you will discover how long you will enjoy playing this game.
