Review: Right from the off you know ‘Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok’ is going to be a big adventure. From the first moment till the last this game looks amazing, but they say beauty is only skin deep. So it is a good thing this game has the depth and gameplay to back it up. Sure, the combat is a little basic, but it is also satisfying and at times a little challenging. Fans of classic D&D will love this more than most, but it really isn’t required because there is enough storyline and action to keep even action newbies happy. I really can’t recommend this one enough and I would love to see some DLC for it.
Considering it got a “Gold” award for the Oculus Quest version what are the real differences? The only real difference I personally noticed was in the graphics and to be fair it is a noticeable difference. The creatures look better, but the environments look much better with much more detailed lighting effects and spell effects as well. If you own the original Quest version there is zero point in downloading this, but for those who haven’t played that yet, this comes highly and easily recommended.
