Description: Sam is a dog in a suit. Max is his naked rabbity partner. Together, they’re the Freelance Police. Jump into the not-quite-right world of Sam & Max via the wonder science of virtual reality, and join the multimedia darlings in their never-ending quest to slap the stupid grin off the face of evil.
Review: I have to say I find myself split on my opinions of ‘Sam and Max: This Time It’s Virtual!’. On the plus side, it looks good and features a lot of humour of the show and at times it really did make me smile. But instead of the big “adventure” you are promised you end up with a small collection of mini-games none of which are essentially unique. In fact, apart from the visual element, the whole game would have been just as good on a Google Cardboard headset and it looks absolutely no different to the Oculus Quest version! I just can’t recommend this game no matter how much I love the franchise. It was clearly made in a rush with no real thought about how best to bring the classic cartoon show to the VR platform and for that reason, I really don’t recommend it.
