Review: This short teaser demo is a mysterious first-person affair, seeing you trapped inside a house filled with secrets and all sorts of nasty things you wouldn’t go looking for in real life. It’s designed to be a standalone experience and won’t be featured the final Resident Evil 7 game. You wake up alone on the floor of an abandoned farmhouse. Daylight is quickly fading. You must find a way out of it. Featuring stunning photorealistic graphics it looks simply mindblowing which sadly goes to making the horror style even scarier than it might have been. Also playing in a first-person mode rather than Resident Evil’s classic 3rd person mode also ramps up the scare level.
This is a big jump up from the Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Kitchen demo and with this, you can really see how Resident Evil could work in VR. If you love a quick horror experience, this is as good as it gets. I would happily pay for a full game of this anytime.
