Review: Mahjong is a classic Chinese game that has been played for hundreds of years and has appeared on just about every console and PC system going. It’s also a very traditional game that is often played by 4 people (no multiplayer in this game) and it’s essentially (to put it as simple as possible) a match 2 game. Look for two tiles the same on the screen and click on each of them (with the Oculus Remote). You keep doing this until all the tiles are gone.
With a total of 162 boards to play, there is more than enough here for both experienced players of the game and newbies. While you are essentially here to play Mahjong, it is also about becoming relaxed and centred. Set in 2 pretty decent looking 360° environments, it is perfect if you are looking to unwind for a while.
How much value you get out of this app really depends on how much you enjoy playing Mahjong. If you don’t then you probably wouldn’t download this app anyway, but for those how do enjoy a game of it (like myself) you will find this a good time waster and perfect for relaxing after a hard days work. Just don’t expect too much for your buck, it is just to give Mahjong players something to relax and play in, nothing more, nothing less.
