VR News: Today (16th of August 2018) Sony announced that it has sold over 3 Million PSVR units with almost 4 million expected to be sold by the end of the year. So what has been the success of the PSVR that other VR headsets haven’t seen? Sadly the answer is far easier than you might think.

My Thoughts on this Story: While there is no surefire way to tell why the PSVR has sold so many units the price point has to be a big seller. I think you also have to take into consideration the number of people who own a PS4 to the number of people who own a PC powerful enough to run a VR headset. The PSVR might be a mass of wires, but once it’s set up its easy to use and doesn’t require much afterthought, or indeed play area. I will be a lot more interesting to see how long it takes the Oculus Go to get to the same amount of sales as I suspect it won’t take half the time it did for Sony.
