Review: To be honest, I do like ‘Pirates on Deck VR’ as it does have a lot of potential. This cartoon swashbuckling action game is a wave-based sea battle with all the focus going onto the action rather than any adventuring. Sadly when it comes to overall quality the game soon starts to sink. The animation on the characters is crap to say the least, but some of the ships and scenery does look OK. Sadly it is the gameplay that lets the game down the most. It just doesn’t have the feel of action with each sword swing feeling cold and empty and each shot from the bluster gun not giving much feedback at all. There are things to like here, but the £4.99 asking price just isn’t justified when it comes to content quality. If you ask me you will be better off getting this game as part of a cheap bundle with others rather than on its own.
