Presentation: As with all the other Pimax headsets launched so far the unboxing experience for the Pimax Vision 8K PLUS leaves a lot to be desired. With a plastic tray for the headset to sit inside of and very little in the way of protective padding, it has a cheap and nasty feel about it despite the super-high premium price tag the headset demands. Pimax really doesn’t know how to package their products nicely at all and should take a leaf out of others books.

Description: The Pimax Vision 8K PLUS is a headset similar to the Vision 8K X, but it takes an 1440p input which it upscales to the 4K panels. The headset is compatible with SteamVR and Oculus software making it compatible with a wide range of already existing VR content. It is not a native Steam VR headset and it requires “PiTool” software to be installed along with it.

Review: Once again we are left wondering why on earth Pimax is trying to flood the market with seemingly pointless upgrades and Sku’s. Take away the small upgrade and you are left with the same headset that is made with the same cheap materials and the same issues with regards to setting it all up and getting it working with your favourite games! If you have any of the previous Pimax 8K headsets there is no need for anyone to buy this one.
