Review: If there is one single thing VR is good at, it’s being able to take you away from it all. All the stress, all the worries, when you need to get away from it all, VR is always ready to do just that. But sometimes you don’t want to play a game, you just need some “You Time” and Perfect is the app that offers just that. From the moment you start the game there is a lady with a very soothing voice telling you how relaxing everything is going to be. But is she telling the truth?
Featuring 3 different locations, each one with a day and night version. You can choose from Snow, Beach and Wilderness scenes, then within each one, you can stand there and enjoy the view, interact with things like the radio, snowballs or rocks and or you can sit down and self-meditate. This app gives you the tools to unwind your mind and feel free, but unless you are willing to use them this app might seem a bit pointless as you are not free to move around (other than to the pre-set teleport locations) or interact with whatever you want.
I have to give it to the makers of the game, each scene does look amazing and a good environment to relax in. It would have been nice to freely explore each environment and some guided meditation wouldn’t have gone amiss, but I think most people will buy this app just to showcase VR to friends and family. Perfect really does offer exactly what it says it will. It gives you a place to relax, you get to discover all sorts of things looking around and you can escape reality. Just don’t expect it to do anything beyond that and sadly that makes the asking price of £7.99 not good at all, so best to wait for a sale for this one. Anything half-price or less should leave you feeling you have got value for money.
