Review: Old Friend is a bright and colourful music video from VR creator Tyler Hurd. With music from the band Future Islands, this is a short but very much fun experience that has the power to get you dancing. As you stand (or you can dance) watching the music play all around you, you can wave your elasticated arms and get into the music. To be honest, this ‘experience’ is more about how VR can draw you into the music, rather than a simple music video done in VR. Old Friend is a joy to watch from start to finish. The music is great, the animation is hysterical and it all comes together to make an oddly powerfully immersive experience that will make you smile from ear to ear. If this is the future of the music video, it’s a great future indeed.
