Review: Ocean Rift is an underwater experience that gives you the chance to swim with all sorts of beautiful sea creatures. You get to choose from Sea Turtles, Reef Sharks, Sea Snakes, Dolphins, Great White Sharks, Humpback Whales, Manatees, Orca Whales, Deep Sea Octopus, Sea Lions, Pliosaurus and finally Mosasaurus. But there is not just one creature in each location, there is lots of other fish and scenery to explore. Each one getting better and better, bigger and bigger.
While you can explore a small area you are pretty much limited to what you can see all around you. This doesn’t mean you feel trapped or confined, the open waters look like they go on forever and ever in the small area you are given there are lots of things to see and discover. When some of the bigger creatures come you way VR really comes into its own, the sheer gasp of amazement as you swim with a giant whale is worth the price of this app alone. but with so many other creatures to explore and swim with, there is more than enough to keep you calm for weeks. This is one of those apps that you show people how good VR can be.
Let’s face it, the rate at which sea creatures are becoming extinct in just a few decades time this might well be the only way to see these creatures. This isn’t just a beautiful experience app, it’s a way of remembering and reminding people just how amazing our sea life is. Many people (including myself) might never go deep-sea diving in real life, but this app is a great way to experience it and preserving that experience for generations to come.
