Review: Need for Speed: No Limits VR is what us VR racing fans have been waiting for. Sure, it’s not as good as other Need for Speed games running on a smartphone (Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit for one) and dare I say the lack of multiplayer, the singular controller method and the constant slowdowns and stuttering are also quite annoying. But when it’s working well, when you are fully immersed in the game, this is without a doubt the best mobile racing game we have seen so far in VR, others don’t even come close to its quality and magnitude. Sadly it does cost quite a lot, far more than any other Need for Speed game on a smartphone. But yet…I feel its worth it, especially if you are already a Need for Speed fan. Sadly this game is a true beast on all aspects and many older Daydream compatible smartphones will struggle to handle it and will overheat within just a few races. So do make sure you test it as soon as you buy it, then if there is a problem you can get a refund ASAP.
