Description: Using data from high-resolution electron microscopy we have reconstructed a human breast cancer cell in 3D VR in order to better visualise mechanisms of nanoparticle internalisation and trafficking. These virtual environments allow users to walk on a cancer cell, exploring and learning about cellular anatomy and processes. This is a VR experience and currently is only compatible with Oculus Rift.
Review: ‘Nanoscape VR’ is supposed to be a “high-resolution electron microscopy we have reconstructed a human breast cancer cell in 3D” and not know what that might look like I can only guess it is indeed that. But there is nothing educational here, nothing that explains what you are seeing, it’s just a load of weird wiggling things and weird spike things. That is it! You get a torch to shine of them and you can teleport around a small area. If there was some point to this, something I could have learned I would have easily recommended it, but until there is, this app is so pointless it made me regret downloading it even when it is free.
