Review: There is no denying Mortal Blitz VR – Escape The Darkness looks great, but this game is a classic case of looks before playability. With Gear VR style head-point for shooting (when you have a motion controller in your hand), to its waypoint movement and even the annoying and mostly unskippable narration scenes and cutscenes. If this game was a vehicle it would be a Lamborghini with a moped engine. But those niggles are nothing when compared to this games high-price point and low value for money. There is simply no justification for the current full asking price and while I have no doubt it would last you a few hours playtime at the very least, that time will be mostly spent playing the same level over and over again and watching the same cutscenes to the point when you just want to stop playing. This is a massive opportunity wasted, but small changes to the gameplay mechanic could turn this game into something very special indeed.
