Description: Moonshot Galaxy is a VR game like no other. Play your way through planetary challenges in exotic branches of the galaxy at your own pace. Designed for comfort, anyone can pick it up and play – reaching the top of the leaderboards will put your skills to the test. The polished presentation and endlessly addictive game-play of Moonshot Galaxy make it an excellent choice for VR veterans and newbies alike. Will you crush the final volcano? Will you cry into your headset? Will you earn a high five? These are important questions you need answers to. This is your galactic quest, should you choose to accept it.
Review: Galaxy Golf (now called Moonshot Galaxy for some reason) is a mini-golf game that is played within space set on various micro planets (think mini-golf set within Super Mario Galaxy). With two courses to play, the idea is to get the ball in the hole. Pretty simple right? Well, no. Many times you have to get your head around the 3D world where hitting a ball onto the green might well involve hitting it halfway around one of the mini planets.
There is the Pleasant Hills course that is all green fairways and water traps, then there is the Frosty Brimstone course which is probably the hardest mini golf course I have ever played. Gameplay-wise, it’s an odd combination of head looking and gamepad manipulation. While you do get used to it, it does take a while.
In VR and the planets really feel like they are floating around in space and the deep 3D aspect really makes you use your head before and during each shot. I found this game to be colourful and fun, but an often frustrating version of mini golf that is quite short-lived. I’m sure more courses will come in time, but for now, it won’t keep your attention for long. Then again, what did you want for a few quid?!
