Description: As a result of a looming global terrorist threat, the governments of major countries have created a Coalition called “Mercenaries”. The Coalition accepts soldiers, policemen, special unit operatives or people who have passed the specialized training programme and a psychological evaluation. Applicants are also required to sign a contract with the Coalition and their records are checked to make sure their past is not shady.
The Mercenaries participate in various special operations, such as hostage rescue missions, combat operations, liberation of territories, VIP security and so on. Their actions during operations or combat are recorded through various means – body cameras, location tracking devices and health sensors. The recorded data is later analyzed by a special task force within the Coalition.
Review: ‘Mercenaries VR’ is a VR shooter in which you are given various scenarios that all position you in static positions. So behind a pillar, behind a wall and you need to take out all the bad guys who are trying to kill you. Once you survive that you move on to the next level, of which there are 8 (with a few parts per level). While the guns are not great it is a fun game if you put a little effort into enjoying it, like by getting into the action with ducking and turning. I have to say the game is worth the current £3.99 asking price as it has both the quality and content amount to justify that, but I wouldn’t pay anything more than that price for it, so do keep your expectations low to match the price point.
