Presentation: When it comes to packaging it was nicely presented with a branded white box, but with very little inside of it. In fact, given that all the processing (and power) was done via the smartphone the headset felt both too heavy and fragile at the same time. But there was very little in the box to speak of, but at least it had nice foam packaging to keep the headset safe during transit.

- Headset Only
Description: Want a mobile VR headset that comes with a 2K display and a 70-degree field of view? Then what you need is a LeTV smartphone and one of these very expensive headsets. It’s basically the same thing as the Samsung Gear VR, only this headset only works with the LETV smartphone to hold the content and power it into the headset. Stats wise it is the equivalent of watching a 1.1000 inch 3D giant-screen! Price-wise it’s a little over the top, but it is very well built and has a range of built-in control features as well as a slot for headphones built into the headset.

Review: The LETV Super Helmet was a combination of both smartphone-powered VR and all in one headset with all the content and processing power is done on the smartphone and the headset connecting to the phone via a HTML cable. Given its high price tag (and the fact that you needed a Letv 1 Pro smartphone to power it the Gear VR was the cheaper and better option. But at the time it did have a good deal of potential and is probably going to become a real collector’s item one day.
