Description: Using data from high-resolution electron microscopy we have reconstructed a human breast cancer cell in 3D VR in order to better visualise mechanisms of nanoparticle internalisation and trafficking. These virtual environments allow users to walk on – or inside, a cancer cell, exploring and learning about cellular anatomy and processes.
Review: ‘Journey to the Centre of the Cell’ is an interactive educational experience with a very small amount of interactivity. Its the process of a cancer cell and how it interacts with the body and I suppose it is rather interesting, but sadly it is also very basic. It looks good, but the lack of narration and things to interact with make it feel more like a preview to something rather than a finished product. But when all is said and done, it is free and worth a look. Provided it sounds like something you are interested with.
