Review: ‘I Hate Santa’ is a turret shooter that puts you in control of a snowball machine gun. The idea is pretty simple, aim, shoot, shoot some more! There are a couple of different characters to battle against. Some just walk up to you and start throwing snowballs, some hid behind walls and benches and some have really thick coats on meaning you need to hit them more than a few times. Then there is also bells to hit to gain more ammo as well as some ammo icons that will give you lots of them.
You get ten health to start with and it all seems pretty simple. But then a snowstorm starts to roll in and there are also snowball turrets shooting back to you, it soon gets very chaotic indeed. The good news is you can dodge the incoming snowballs by dodging left and right with your head. The rest of the game is entirely played with an Oculus Remote, Gamepad and head movements.
here isn’t much to this game, but it really doesn’t need it. It’s got a top score for you to pass between family and friends and get them to try and beat each other and it also has an overall world leaderboard. Buying this game isn’t just about getting a fun little festive game, it’s also about buying a little gift for every hard-working VR software producer out there in a year that has been just the start of VR. The perfect little Christmas download.
