Description: Shadow Factory’s entry to the 2018 Global Game Jam is now ready to play this Halloween Season. Players find themselves in a small room with a telephone switchboard. They must complete the correct cord circuits to connect calls. In doing so they can listen in on the different conversations and uncover the unsettling secrets that make up a larger mystery.
Review: On paper ‘Hang Up’ would sound like a terrible idea for a game which sees the player working in a switchboard station. But in reality, the game is really good if you are willing to give it a chance. One of the hardest things to do here is to work out how to play the actual game. Then once you get the idea of the game you will understand why people enjoy it so much. Without giving anything away you get just six attempts to locate the correct switchboard circuit before the game ends. OK, so its a little short in gameplay length, but what there is is no only clever, but quite atmospheric. It’s not going to be for everyone, but I am happy to suggest everyone gives it a go at least once.
