Description: Half-Life: Alyx is Valve’s VR return to the Half-Life series. It’s the story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine, set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival. The Combine’s control of the planet since the Black Mesa incident has only strengthened as they corral the remaining population in cities. Among them are some of Earth’s greatest scientists: you and your father, Dr Eli Vance.
As founders of a fledgeling Resistance, you’ve continued your clandestine scientific activity—performing critical research and building invaluable tools for the few humans brave enough to defy the Combine. Every day, you learn more about your enemy, and every day you work toward finding a weakness.
Review: Let’s face it, ever since the days of the HTC vive we have been waiting for a Half-Life game to come to VR, but no-one could have predicted it would be this big, this good looking and this worth owning. But you don’t need to be a half-life fan to enjoy this game, not at all. This is a new adventure, a new world that is not only made for VR, but it could only be played in VR. If just 1% of VR games were as good as ‘Half-Life: Alyx’ Vr would be in a much stronger position now. Sure, it needs a 1070 or higher to run well, but if you have the power and a VR headset, you will soon discover why this could well be the best game ever made for VR. I just hope it isn’t the last of the AAA titles.
