Description: This ground-breaking interactive stop-motion animation is the first collaboration between the National Film Board of Canada, Felix & Paul Studios and Clyde Henry Productions. Blending 3D 360-degree video, stop-motion, miniatures and CGI, GYMNASIA pushes the art of puppet animation into uncharted territory. Viewers shrink to 1/3 scale as they enter a world built entirely by hand. The first VR experience to induce the elusive anxiety that occurs when the lines between what’s real and unreal are blurred beyond belief, GYMNASIA is a dark dream ⎯ unsettling and weirdly wonderful.
Review: At just over 6 minutes long Gymnasia isn’t the longest 3D 360 animation short I have seen nor is it the best, but it is still well worth seeing for the fantastic animation and storyline. You either love this genre of VR experience or you don’t, but for those who do this is definitely one to add to your collection. The only thing I will add is that you might want to wait until this is in a sale because even for fans of this genre (like myself) this is still a little overpriced.
