Our Thoughts: Unlike Google Glass, the GlassUp is a “receive only” pair of augmented reality glasses. No photo or video talking involved which also means no privacy issues to contend with. It also projects the information close to the center of vision which means less strain to the eye of the wearer.
Sadly it seems this vision or a displayable online life didn’t get its funding, but we wouldn’t count it down and out just yet. They are still highly active making the apps for the system, and just because they have been flying under the radar means they might have a better product to bring to market. Google Glass wet our appetite for this sort of tech and showed us that the tech can definitely handle the dream, but it’s just a question of if us humans are ready to use it. Only time will tell.
