Review: You start off learning that you have the bloodline of a warrior and handy for you a mystical shaman will help guide you to using it to its full potential. Once the story of your heritage is told you get down to the point of the game, hacking, smashing and bashing your way through villages, paths and various other locations. You have light attacks, strong attacks, combos and even some fatality moves at your disposal.
Of course, things are never as simple as getting from A-B. You have countless enemies that will stop you as well as traps and even erupting volcanos! In terms of the environment, you are pretty much free to explore wherever you want, but the game is deceptively linear in style, but at least it all looks amazing and the characters & gore all give it a finished look. In VR you really feel part of the action and the best camera placement is automatically done for you, which gives you the best view and sight of the best things to see.
Feral Rites once again shows how amazing 3rd person games can be in VR. You really feel part of the fast paced action and while slightly cartoon in style, you feel immersed in the environment. If you like your music loud, your action fast and your gore level ramped to the max, this is a game that might well convince you to buy a VR headset. And if you already have one, you will need to download this game as an essential part of your collection.
