Description: Set in the mythical age of Vikings, FATED: The Silent Oath tells a tale of courage and sacrifice where an everyday father and husband must do the impossible to save his family from the destruction of the world at the hands of giants of old.

FATED is a first-person movie-length narrative-adventure game in virtual reality. This immersive game with stunning visuals showcases the best that VR has to offer, proposing a strong story-driven, narrative experience that focuses on emotion over gameplay.

Review: Fated: The Silent Oath is a Viking Age Adventure played in a first-person adventure style. You play the role of a Viking villager called Ulfer who has swapped his voice for life in a sort of deal with the devil after becoming injured somehow. While it does look beautiful there isn’t much to control in the start as the game progresses along with the storyline.

Once past the intro storyline you will be hunting and protecting and there are also caves to walk around and puzzles to solve meaning there is a bit of variety in the gameplay style. This is a game that you will rush through because you won’t notice the time fly past because there is always another bit of the storyline to watch or something else to do. By the end of the story, I was really starting to feel for the characters and would have loved to have played on for several more hours.

Sadly there aren’t that many good PSVR games at the moment, but Fated: The Silent Oath is one of the best PSVR games so far. While it isn’t the longest of adventures what there is looks amazing and the storyline makes that time whip past due to being well written. While some might see it as more of an interactive 360 animation, it is still worth seeing and nice to see better quality games starting to make their way into the RSVR library.
