Description: Faceted Flight is a stylized stunt flight game designed to deliver the thrill of flight without ever leaving your chair. Take control of the Hover Jet and challenge ghost racers in Ring Attack or just relax and explore Free Flight….or you could always hop into the cockpit of the Jump Seat and give Target Practice a try. As an Early Access supporter, you’ll get a first-hand look at Faceted Flight’s ongoing development through frequent updates including new levels, new features, and lots of bug fixing. What are you waiting for? Do a barrel roll.
Review: Faceted Flight is a retro looking flight game that features several modes of play. First, you get to choose from a hover-jet or a jump seat ship. With the jump seat ship you have to ‘jump’ from pad to pad and survive for as long as you can. The good news is, this isn’t too hard. The hover-jet on the other hand as ring racing (where you have to race through the rings as fast as possible and the 2nd is a free-roam mode where you get to explore the lands and find hidden orbs. But to be honest, they are not that hidden at all, but once you get down to just a few it will soon become a nightmare.
While the controls do get a little getting used to especially in the jump-ship you do soon get used to them and will be flying around, racing and the jump ship levels are pretty easy you do get to set your own difficulty to challenge yourself further and further. You get to do all that while flying around several locations which might look pretty might the same, but it is a change of scenery which is nice.
While this game is not going to beat DCS World for flight experience it does give you a good arcade-style flight that most people should be able to get the hang of. I wasn’t a fan of the challenge elements of this, but I was a fan of the free-roam flying. Being able to fly around the lands gave me a good sense of being there, of believing that I really was flying a hover ship. For the price you pay, this game offers great value for money which is a nice surprise. It’s certainly not a perfect flight game, but worthy of a download.
