Review: Once again we pop into the Eve Valkyrie universe. This all-action arcade space shooter is pretty much a direct port of the original Oculus version, with most the maps and gameplay modes you have come to expect. You play the role of a cloned fighter pilot, flying for the Valkyrie space pirates. They have this clone storyline because when you die your “consciousness” gets uploaded into another clone and back into battle you go.
While there are several single play modes to play the online multiplay mode is where you will probably spend most of your gameplay life. Using the Dualshock 4 controller only the controls are fairly easy to get the hang of, but it is the VR sickness that you will need to get control of if you want to be any good at this game.
The big question here is what is lost in the PC to console port? Well, the good news is there really isn’t an awful lot, in fact, unless you take the time to deeply compare the 2 of them side-by-side you probably won’t notice any difference. But believe you and me, they are there if you want to find them. This has been a great port-over and being able to play aginst people playing on the Oculus is just the Cherry on the cake. Games like this are what VR is made for and boy does it look fantastic. Space games can get you easily immersed and you will soon be believing you really are in an epic space battle, fighting for your life. This is the Star Wars style game I always wanted to play.
