Description: Distant Nightmare will immerse you in a dark and mysterious world thanks to VR. The game puts you in the shoes, and on the bike, of a child in a nightmare. Your objective is to cycle through the unexplored environments of your mind in hopes to survive the night and wake up the next day.
As you cycle through this VR world you will explore new environments, new creatures and challenges, as well as unlock a variety of bikes worthy of elusive nightmares and cycling demons. And if you want to push yourself even more and test your focus while you slumber and cycle, try the time trial mode where collecting time is the only way to survive. That’s if surviving the nightmare is even an option!
Review: Have you ever had that horrible dream that places you as a child riding on your bike through a neverending nightmare? No…me neither. But that is what this game is about. Distant Nightmare is very much like the zombie game “Into The Dead” where you are constantly running forward and the only control you have is your quick head movements. You have to avoid the monsters, bats and secrecy for as long as you can travelling on your bike. There is no shooting here, just quick head turns for your own survival.
The good news is you have a range of bikes that might help you in your quest to get home. From the basic BMX to the classic chopper, they are all here and some other modes of transportation thrown in for good measure. On top of all that, there is also golden teddies to collect if you can risk getting them. With two games modes as well as the possibility to play a multiplayer score challenge with friends, this is a game that offers more than you might think given its low price.
Distant Nightmare might not be the scariest game you will ever play, but for value for money, it is worth downloading. With fast-moving and challenging gameplay, but yet also deadly simple and with a score, you could also do a challenge mode with friends to see who gets the highest score. This game is for anyone who enjoyed “Into The Dead” if you loved that game, you will love this.
