Description: In Diggers VR you are a new recruit with the ANZAC diggers of World War 1. This is a real-time, virtual reality docu-drama that recreates life in the trenches and tunnels at the Battle of the Somme. You move through the story triggering narrative cues by interacting with other characters or the environment. You subtly influence events as they evolve. Here you are, in the largest armed conflict in history. What fate awaits you deep beneath the ground, digger?
Review: Diggers: Trench Experience puts you in control of a WW1 digger. This person has been charged with the job of making a tunnel to German trenches. But this isn’t some weird digging game, this is a powerful educational experience that gives you a little glimpse of what life was like for people in the trenches during WW1 and let me tell you it was pretty scary.
With ricochet bullets going all over the place, shells being drop left, right and centre and the added horror of not being able to see anything. At times the experience was a little glitchy, while at other times I swear I could smell gunpowder in the air.
Diggers: Trench Experience is yet another great example of why VR makes a powerful educational tool. Being able to experience these types of scenarios, putting you into the role of someone long gone makes the learning element of it much easy to soak in. While short it has the ability to stay with you for a while and that makes it well worth a download.
