Description: The concept of the game was developed exclusively for Virtual Reality. The game captures an advanced combination of movement techniques (also free locomotion) with intuitive controls. Items can be touched, used, or destroyed for an even more intense feeling during the game. There are a lot of weapon types and a lot of different opponents. Each opponent has its own AI behaviour and its own unique fighting skills. Experience the fascinating moonscape and explore a dilapidated moon base with a lot of secret hideouts, impregnable hordes of opponents, and a sinister Sci-Fi setting.

Review: On the outside, you would imagine Dead Moon – Revenge on Phobos to be a pretty good game. Its got a cool sci-fi story and a creepy atmosphere very much akin to Aliens only in VR. Sadly it is not until you start playing the game when it starts to fall apart. With an overly complex control system and piss poor aiming the game is almost at the point that it is unplayable which makes the £10 asking price way over the top. If I had paid just half that I would still say it’s a gamble on whether or not it’s worth the money!

The good news is it’s not a bad looking game and just some small changes really will make all the difference. While a little basic the look and feel of the game has what it takes to make you feel immersed (especially the outdoor sections) it’s just the controls that let it down. So some real potential to be a great game then…just not yet.
