Review: Cubians VR is an odd little strategy game indeed. It’s like a tabletop strategy game version of Plants vs. Zombies in which you put down various little characters to defeat the never-ending waves of enemies. I think this type of game works well in VR as the little characters all look like little playthings you are putting down on a real table. While graphically it is very Minecraft in style it is good enough to make the game fun to play and feel oddly immersive.
But it sadly has too many flaws for me to even think about recommending it. First up you need a 3m X 3m play space that most people simply don’t have and then there is the lack of depth you might expect from a game that costs £6.99. While it might be worth picking up for a quid or less I certainly wouldn’t pay any more than that.
