Description: Reminiscent of classic theme park “dark rides,” expect to be moved in a way that is entirely new. The Channel Island Suite is an adventure made entirely out of sound and light, taking you from the loneliness of the open sea to a welcoming encounter with the magnificent Island 1.
With original music written exclusively for Virtual Reality, every sound is recorded separately and placed in 3D. It’s a world where fireworks transform into percussion and flocks of birds become a choir. The surrounding environment is married to the music.
Review: If I had to sum up what The Channel Island Suite as all about I would probably tell you that it is a 360° music video for your enjoyment. But yet…it is so much more than that. It is a perfect marriage of music and environment that allows you to hear, see and feel the music. I really don’t want to say too much about this video to spoil any of the surprises, but needless to say, it ends with a bang.
What I love most about these 360° music videos are the feelings you get that go with the music. Sure, you could sit down and listen to a song in a dark room and imagine what the songwriter was feeling when the song was written, but in VR you see it with your own eyes and with the right visuals and the right song VR is a powerful tool for helping portray the pieces of music’s emotional aspects. Does this app have that winning combination? You will have to download it and find out for yourself.
