Review: Strategy games are a genre that always looks good in virtual reality and CastleStorm VR is no different. Played in a medieval strategy, side-on, cartoon style of graphics you overlook the entire battlefield of both sides. The game does have a certain Angry Birds style to it, especially with the main ballista weapon. The rest is all strategy with troops and additional power weapons useable by the ballista.
While essentially 2D in style overlooking the battlefield you get a real sense of depth and immersion. This game soon drags you into it and will have you fighting for your castle in no time at all. With so many different styles of gameplay and options while in battle, this is a game that you won’t get bored of easily.
Sadly for myself, I am not the best strategy game player, but CastleStorm VR doesn’t throw you into the deep end. With several difficulty settings even I managed to compleat a few levels which are really saying something about how easy this game is to play. CastleStorm VR is medieval fun and lots of it. The game is good, but check out the cool medieval cinema at the start of the game in the menu. We need that added to the Oculus Video app immediately.
